The plot of the case is as follows: 7 years before Kudo Shinichi was shrunk, the Tokyo police department had a headache hunting down a criminal who caused a series of bombings.

The scenes of Sergeant Takagi and Conan searching for the bomb together or the scene where the two of them converse and decide to sacrifice themselves to prevent the bomb from exploding are highly appreciated by many readers for their humanity and dramatic atmosphere.

The case began when detective Mori received a letter with an investigation fee, inviting him to Tsukikage island to solve the case.
